Filters:

Filters are additional attachments which can be fitted to the front of the lens. Filters are used for  variety of reasons; for example, to add color, enrich color, remove unwanted colors, remove reflections, add dramatic effects like star, rainbow etc. There are mainly two types of filter systems: a) Screw type - these filters can be screwed to the front of the lens, and b)With a holding device - this filter system contains one holding device and slides of filters. The holding device can be fitted to the front of the lens and the filter slides are slid into the holding device. Some of the widely used filters are described below:

1.Sky-1A filter: Removes the excessive blue tones from the pictures.

2.UV filter: Removes the UV rays from the pictures.

3.Circular Polarizing filter: Removes reflections, enriches colors.

4.Neutral Density filters: These filters are used to pass less light through the lens. They come in many strengths.

5.Star filter: These filters turn light sources into stars as shown in the example below:

6.Enhancement filter: This filter will saturate the color of the object.

7.Center spot filter: Center portion will be clear and the rest will be blurred.

8.Multi-image filter: Several images of the same object are created. There are different multi-image filters depending on the number of images formed.

9.Graduated filters: These are half clear and half colored filters with the middle portion gradually blended with the other color and can be found in many colors. 

10.Rainbow filter: Adds a rainbow to the picture.
